Dr. Zara Akhavan is a Canadian qualified General Dentist and an expert in all areas of Dentistry, in
particular Cosmetic Dentistry with over 10 years ofextensive clinical experience from Canada, U.S.A.
and the U.A.E.

After graduating from McGill University in Canada with honours in Physiology, she received the title
of Doctor of Dental Medicine at the Faculty of Dentistry from McGill University. Her goal to further
pursue her education and expertise, took her in 2004 to the University of Maryland’s Advanced
General Dentistry Clinic in Baltimore, U.S.A. AGD is a post-doctoral clinic, where dentists who have
completed dental school receive 1-2 additional years of advanced specialized training.

In recognition of Dr Zara’s unique and outstanding qualities of leadership, character and humanity
throughout her dental studies at Mc Gill University she was the only student awarded the Canadian
Dental Association President’s award of McGill University in 2004.

Throughout her career, Dr. Zara has been very active volunteering in different programs and
healthcare facilities including St. John’s Ambulance, Jewish General Hospital and the Outreach
program allowing her to develop excellent doctor-patients skills. Dr Zara has a very strong
commitment and devotion to her patients and takes pride in providing the most conservative,
beneficial and best health care treatment options to her patients.

Dr. Zara’s passion for travel and dentistry has resulted in her working and living in various parts of
the world and treating patients of all ages and from different ethnicities and countries of origin. Her
professional career started in Montreal, Canada in 1996, where she worked as a Dental Surgeon
Assistant. During her stay in the U.S, she worked at The University of Maryland’s Dental Clinic,
where she handled treatment of patients involving multidisciplinary needs, as well as medically
compromised patients.

In 2006, she relocated to Dubai, where she worked as a General, Family and Cosmetic Dentist with
various reputable healthcare establishments before joining Mediclinic Dubai Mall.

Dr. Zara keeps herself up to date by regularly attending worldwide dental meetings, conferences and
workshops. She is a member of many reputable International Dental Associations, more specifically:
-The American Dental Association,
-The U.A.E. Dental Association
-The Academy of General Dentists
